Chief Mate Phase II fees

Course fee

₹41,000

For the whole course of 3 months, paid at booking.

The fee is the same for every candidate, from Kerala, the rest of India or abroad, and the course is held at the Kochi campus. Book a batch date on this page to hold a seat; the fee is paid online when you book.

Who takes this course

This course is for Second Mates who hold a Second Mate (Foreign Going) Certificate of Competency, have completed Chief Mate Phase I at a DG Shipping-approved institute, and have logged at least eighteen months of sea service since obtaining their Second Mate certificate. It is the second of two preparatory phases at the academy for officers working towards a Chief Mate Certificate of Competency.

After the course

Completing Phase II prepares the candidate to appear for the Chief Mate Certificate of Competency examinations conducted by DG Shipping. Officers who go on to serve as Chief Mate and accumulate the required sea service can later take Advanced Shipboard Management at the academy as they work towards a Master's certificate.
