Advanced Shipboard Management (ASM) fees

For the whole course of 45 days, paid at booking.

Who takes this course

Advanced Shipboard Management is for Chief Mates who hold a First Mate (Foreign Going) Certificate of Competency and have completed the required sea service after obtaining it, either twelve months as Chief Officer or eighteen months as Second Officer. It is a preparatory competency course, not a basic or entry-level one.

After the course

Completing this course prepares the candidate to appear for the Master (Foreign Going) Certificate of Competency examinations conducted by DG Shipping. It is the final preparatory course in the deck officer progression at the academy; officers advancing towards command roles may also take bridge and navigation simulator courses such as ECDIS or Radar Observer Simulator (ROSC/ARPA) offered at the academy.
