Who takes this course

This course is for marine engineers who hold an MEO Class IV (Foreign Going) Certificate of Competency and have completed twelve months of sea service, including 240 days of propelling time, since obtaining it. It prepares them for the next engineering certificate rather than serving as a first-time or basic course.

After the course

Completing this course prepares the candidate to appear for the MEO Class II Certificate of Competency examinations conducted by DG Shipping. Engineers on this track can also take the Engine Room Simulator Course at Management Level at the academy to build the simulator-based competencies assessed for MEO Class II.
