Course fee

For the whole course of 1 day, paid at booking.

The fee is the same for every candidate, from Kerala, the rest of India or abroad, and the course is held at the Kochi campus. Book a batch date on this page to hold a seat; the fee is paid online when you book.

Who takes this course

This combined refresher is for seafarers who already hold an Advanced Fire Fighting certificate issued within the last five years and need to renew it before it lapses, along with the related Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting proficiency. It is a renewal course, not a first-time qualification, and candidates must be medically fit as per DG Shipping standards.

After the course

Completing this one-day course renews the seafarer's Advanced Fire Fighting and Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting certification for a further five years, keeping them eligible to serve in firefighting-related shipboard duties. The same refresher is taken again ahead of each five-year expiry.
