Course fee

For the whole course of 3 days, paid at booking.

The fee is the same for every candidate, from Kerala, the rest of India or abroad, and the course is held at the Kochi campus. Book a batch date on this page to hold a seat; the fee is paid online when you book.

Who takes this course

For marine engineering cadets and junior engineers who have completed at least 6 months' approved sea service after pre-sea training (Engineering) at a DG Shipping-approved institute. It is an operational-level simulator course in engine room watchkeeping.

After the course

It meets the STCW Code A-III/1 requirement for operational-level competency in machinery operation and watchkeeping, supporting candidates preparing for their MEO Class IV certificate of competency exams. Engineers who later hold MEO Class IV, with further sea service, can progress to the academy's Engine Room Simulator Course (Management Level – MEO Class II).
