Who takes this course

This management-level course is for marine engineers holding an MEO Class IV certificate of competency with at least 12 months' sea service, and for those who already hold MEO Class I or II. Electro-Technical Officer cadets who have completed pre-sea training and the required sea service, and are preparing for their ETO certificate of competency exams, are also eligible.

After the course

It covers the STCW management-level requirement for working with shipboard high voltage systems rated above 1,000 volts, needed for certificate of competency revalidation or upgrade as an engineering officer or ETO. Engineers who have not yet completed the operational-level training can take High Voltage Operational Level at the academy.

Course Overview

The High Voltage Management Level course is designed to equip marine engineers and electro-technical officers with advanced knowledge and practical skills for operating and managing shipboard high voltage systems (above 1,000 volts). It covers safe operation, maintenance, fault diagnosis, and emergency procedures related to high voltage installations. This course is mandatory for the revalidation and upgrade of CoC for engineering officers and ETOs under STCW 2010.
