On August 3, 2026, the Euro Tech Maritime Academy campus came alive with vibrant anticipation and mindful purpose as it proudly hosted Deeksharambham 2026, a grand inaugural ceremony welcoming the newest cohorts of BSc Nautical Science, Diploma in Nautical Science (DNS), and BBA Maritime Logistics students. The day commenced purposefully with a seamless student registration process, where the dedicated Registration Team warmly received the incoming batch, issuing ID and welcome cards to officially mark their induction. Following this, senior BSc Nautical Science students greeted their new peers. The academy then accorded a deeply respectful and dignified welcome to the esteemed Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. S Ganesan, honoring his presence with a striking band performance and a traditional maritime salute.

Rooted in maritime tradition and mindful beginnings, the morning transitioned into the core inauguration. ETMA students Gitesh (GME) and Mariya (BSc NS) took the stage to gracefully introduce the day's programme, setting a thoughtful and engaged tone for the events to follow. Following a solemn Seafarers Prayer, a collective of esteemed faculty, parents, and student representatives illuminated the ceremonial lamp. This sacred 'Lighting of the Lamp' marked the official start of the students' transformative journey, serving as a beacon of knowledge and discipline. Following this luminous inauguration, the program transitioned into a profound exchange of wisdom, beginning with a gracious Welcome Address by Dean Capt. KK Haridas and seasoned words of advice from Principal Capt. Biju T Varghese. Students received profound academic and life guidance during the 'Guru Vachanam' session by the Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. S Ganesan, culminating in an inspiring Presidential Address by Executive Director Mr. Babu Joseph.

Recognizing that true success at sea and in life requires holistic well-being, the academy dedicated the mid-morning to highly meaningful enrichment sessions. Dr. Vasanthakumari Prabhu guided the new batch through the vital topic of Mental Health and the formula for success, grounding the students in self-awareness. Ms. Preeti Pillai highlighted Communication as the definitive key to both personal and professional triumphs, while Dr. Smita Smith provided essential Medical Awareness training.

The afternoon smoothly shifted into practical orientation, anchoring the students in their new reality. Capt. Joseph Tharakan, Capt. Subhish Balakrishnan, and Capt. K K Haridas collaboratively introduced the specific courses and departments, while the HCO’s outlined daily campus and hostel routines to ensure a seamless transition. Fostered by vibrant student events organized by the senior batch, the ceremony ended with final reflections from the Executive Director. Capt. Rajeev Menon delivered the Vote of Thanks, expressing profound gratitude to the Chief Guest and all honored dignitaries for their time and wisdom, and the gathering proudly concluded with the National Anthem, officially casting off the lines for the bright academic voyage ahead
