Who takes this course

This refresher is for seafarers who already hold a Medical First Aid certificate issued within the last five years and need to renew it before it lapses. It is a renewal course for holders of the original Medical First Aid qualification, not a first-time course.

After the course

Completing this one-day course renews the Medical First Aid certificate for a further five years, keeping the holder eligible to provide first aid onboard as required under STCW. The same refresher is taken again ahead of each five-year expiry.
