For the whole course of 6 days, paid at booking.

Who takes this course

For deck officers holding a 2nd Mate certificate of competency or above, who already hold ROSC and ARPA certificates. It is an advanced radar, ARPA and bridge simulator course for officers of the watch.

After the course

It builds on earlier ROSC/ARPA training with advanced radar plotting, collision avoidance and bridge operations in complex traffic. Officers progressing through the ranks go on to the academy's Ship Maneuvering Simulator & Bridge Team Work course once they hold a 1st Mate certificate of competency and are preparing for their Master's exams.

Course Overview

The Radar ARPA & Navigation Simulator Course (RANSCO) is designed for officers in charge of a navigational watch. It provides advanced training in radar and ARPA use, collision avoidance, and voyage execution using full-mission bridge simulators. The course also focuses on decision-making, watchkeeping standards, and application of COLREGs under challenging navigational environments, as per STCW Regulation A-II/1 and A-II/2.
