1. General Terms

1.1 Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using our website and services, you agree to be bound by these Terms, along with all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree, you are not authorized to use our services.

1.2 Changes to Terms

Euro Tech Maritime Academy reserves the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Updates will be published on our website, and your continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. Course Registration and Fees

We use your data for the following purposes:

2.1 Course Confirmation

Candidates are responsible for ensuring their program choice is final before registration. All details must be verified prior to making any payment.

2.2 Payment Terms

All fees must be paid in full within the deadlines specified. Any bank, transaction, or service charges will be borne by the candidate and are non-refundable.

2.3 Marketing and Communications

Unless explicitly stated, course fees do not include costs for items such as safety equipment, examination fees, or other additional materials.

3. Shifting and Cancellation Policy

3.1 Shifting of Courses

Candidates may shift their enrollment under the following conditions:

Theory Courses:

  • Within 6 months: 10% shifting fee
  • Between 6–12 months: 20% shifting fee

Courses with Practicals:

  • Within 6 months: 20% shifting fee
  • Between 6–12 months: 30% shifting fee

Shifting to a higher-fee batch requires paying the difference in course fee along with the applicable shifting fee. Interchanging courses or transferring enrollment to another participant is not permitted.

3.2 Cancellation and Refunds

Refund eligibility for cancellations is as follows:

  • More than 1 month before course start: 85% refund
  • 15–30 days before course start: 50% refund
  • 3–14 days before course start: 25% refund
  • Within 72 hours of course start: No refund (fees forfeited)

Note: Courses once shifted cannot be canceled. Withdrawing from a shifted course results in forfeiture of the full fee.

3.3 Refund Exclusions

Refunds are not applicable for additional costs such as safety gear, missed sessions, supplementary exams, or other extra charges.

3.4 Refund Processing

Refunds will be processed via online transfer within 15–30 days.

3.5 Minimum Enrollment Requirement

Courses require a minimum number of participants. If this threshold is not met, the course may be rescheduled, and candidates will be shifted to the next available batch.

4. Attendance and Course Requirements

4.1 Mandatory Attendance

100% attendance is mandatory for all courses approved by D.G. Shipping. Candidates failing to meet this requirement must re-enroll as a fresh candidate.

4.2 Attendance Shortfall (for Long Courses)

For courses exceeding 10 days, candidates may make up one missed session in the next batch (subject to seat availability) by paying:

  • 10% of course fee for Theory sessions
  • 20% of course fee for Practical sessions

4.3 Employment Restrictions

Candidates are not permitted to be employed (sailing or shore- based) during the course. Violation will lead to disqualification.

4.4 Visa Requirements for Foreign Candidates

Foreign nationals must possess a valid student visa. Failure to present appropriate visa documentation will result in disqualification.

5. Use of Website

5.1 Access and Use

You are granted a limited license to access and use our website strictly for personal, non-commercial purposes. Unauthorized framing, linking, or misuse is prohibited.

5.2 Intellectual Property Rights

All website content—including text, graphics, logos, images, and software—remains the property of Euro Tech Maritime Academy or its licensors. Copying, distribution, or derivative works without prior written consent are strictly prohibited.

5.3 User Account and Security

When creating an account, you must provide accurate details. You are responsible for maintaining your login credentials and must immediately notify the Academy of unauthorized account use.

6. User-Generated Content

6.1 Responsibility for Content

Users may post comments or content, but you are solely responsible for your submissions. Prohibited content includes:

  • Unlawful, defamatory, or offensive material
  • Content infringing the rights of others
  • Harmful code, malware, or viruses

6.2 Rights to Posted Content

By submitting content, you grant Euro Tech Maritime Academy a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, and perpetual license to use, modify, and display such content.

7. Limitation of Liability

7.1 No Warranties

Our website and services are provided "as is" and "as available." We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

7.2 Limitation of Damages

The Academy shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, even if advised of such possibilities.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Euro Tech Maritime Academy, its officers, directors, employees, and affiliates harmless from any claims, liabilities, or expenses arising out of your use of our services or violation of these Terms.

9. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Kerala, India. Any disputes shall fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Ernakulam, Kerala.
